was called upon at all hours of the day and night.

The services of all these men were invaluable. They performed many hours of extra duty uncomplainingly and often at considerable personal risk. P.S.0.42, P.C.C.14 and L.B.C.296 were on occasions, under hostile fire. They
obtained valuable information, and shewed no sign of defection, although constantly exposed to enemy influence.
