(g) Mr. Ng Ping-wu, principal Interpreter, in the

Detective Department, was exceptionally zealous and useful.

He was quite fearless in the discharge of his duties, and

was called upon at all hours of the day and night.

(h) The Chinese Detectives at the Frontier Stations,

Lok Ma Chau, Sheung Shui, Ta Ku Ling and Sha Tau Kok deserve

special mention.

The services of all these men were invaluable. They performed many hours of extra duty uncomplainingly and often at considerable personal risk. P.S.0.42, P.C.C.14 and L.B.C.296 were on occasions, under hostile fire. They

obtained valuable information, and shewed no sign of defection, although constantly exposed to enemy influence.
